The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen
fate
up against your will
through the thick and thin
he will wait until
you give yourself to him.
So this song is about vampirism, right, but you already knew that, didn’t you, smart ones and is a favorite of the local community radio station around October 31.
But I have other associations.
I’m in an inconceivably tiny, uncomfortably cramped ladies room at a local pub and this song is piping out over the PA while I’m vomiting into the toilet. Just divorced, feeling like shit about it to the point that i wasn’t actually telling anyone, while simultaneously drinking and smoking and just generally screwing around perhaps a little too much. And it felt like I couldn’t escape even tho I physically had: the demands of my family and the pressure to conform was great. i was 22. So in essence, the whole vampire thing? it works here too.
